He sat on a bench in spring, underneath a wonderful twisting oak.
He sat on a bench he cleared of winter snow
He sat on a bench he could no longer sit on
He sat on a bench and watched the world
go by.

Our tails entwined—
We’ll live through every mess.

A Mermaid Washed up on the Shore
A mermaid washed up on the beach near a town,
And nobody came to its aid.
It flopped up and down,
And flapped left and right,
Then stopped and gave up in the end.
